The 194-acre property opened in 1981 by businessmen who were later linked to a multimillion-dollar marijuana trafficking network, which resulted in the U.S. Department of Justice seizing the course in 1986 and a year later sold it at auction. Operating under the 1984 Comprehensive Crime Control Act, the government confiscated the course on the grounds that it was purchased with profits from racketeering and drug sales.

DO NOT play this course if it has rained within the last seven days. Drainage is terrible!

Weather was great for a late morning start after a couple of rainy days. Course doesn't seem to drain very well as everything was soft and held. But having ten (10) holes with water coming into play, one must expect this after raining. Played this beautiful layout from the tips at 6,595 yds / 71.2 / 132 with big separation between the side-by-side fairways. Two (2) of the par 5's #4-525yds & #13-593yds are great challenges with the water coming into play on each shot. Shot 43/46 w/ 37putts in 4.5hrs and paid $29.00 including a cart. I know the conditions will be better in the summer by having more roll, but it was great today. Located just off the highway taking about 10 minutes and worth the stop.
